Megan's January Subscriptions

Happy Monday everyone! It's rainy and dreary here today, but luckily I have some bright and cheery products laying around to contradict those rainy Monday blues. Life showed up lately and I've gotten a bit  behind on my posts. I'm super excited to share my January beauty Subscriptions with you!

This was the first month for my two new subscriptions, Beauty Army and MyGlam. It seems like the post office was against me this month, as it took an incredibly long time for both of these to make the trip from California to Florida, and almost as long to get from my local post office to my mailbox. It ended up being an extra fun day when they both arrived at the same time. MyGlam arrives in a shiny pink envelope, and Beauty Army has a larger printed box so I had a full mailbox that day!

I love the way the MyGlam envelope looks. I'm a sucker for anything pink and shiny! It doesn't quite offer the same protection of the products though. I was lucky and everything in my bag arrived in great shape, but it seemed like some people had issues with the envelope opening or products being damaged. I hope they find a way to protect the items a little better, because the envelope is adorable! Here is how the items were packaged when I opened the envelope:

And this is everything out of the makeup bag:

This month's theme was Back to Nature, and I LOVE the design on the make up bag. Each month you will get a new bag decorated to match the theme, which I think is a great value added to this service. I love bags, and I think they would also make cute little gift packaging just in case you ever think you have too many. ;)

Items included in my bag are:

Wen Conditioning Shampoo, 2 oz. Deluxe Sample
TheBalm Nail Polish in "That's Red-iculous", Full Size
Freeman Peel Off Cucumber Mask, 6 fl oz, Full Size
Sheer Cover Concealer in Light/Medium, .10 oz Full Size

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying the items in my bag. The nail polish is the clear winner for me out of these items. I've heard of the brand and absolutely LOVE their packaging style! Check them out at their website to see all of their adorable packaging. I'm a nail polish fanatic, and tend to change my nails every few days or so. This stuff stayed on so well, even without a top coat! I think I'm going to have to do a test to see how long I can keep it on without chipping. The color was a beautiful deep red; not too bright and not too heavy and dark. Here's a shot of it on (with my absolutely awful camera!):

Not the best picture. The flash made the red pop a little too much, it's deeper than it looks here and the tips of my nails look a bit funny. I'll have to try to get a shot of it outdoors next time I wear it to get a more accurate picture. I am definitely looking forward to purchasing more of their stuff!

Christy covered a lot of the details of the Beauty Army kit, as it so happens we picked exactly the same stuff! Great minds think alike. :) As she said, Beauty Army absolutely nailed the packaging:

The box is really sturdy and cute, and can definitely be used again for storage or gifting. The pink camo is adorable, and since they wrap each item it's like opening presents! Here is all my stuff out of the box:

That little tub of pumpkin scrub there in the middle? Smells out of this world good. It's like a little jar of pumpkin pie deliciousness.

I'm still working on trying a lot of the things. Since I got quite a few face products this time, I like to take my time and try each one separately. I don't have terribly sensitive skin, but it's usually best to try them one at a time so you know what it was if anything bothers you.

I am incredibly happy with my subscriptions this month. For 32.00, this is everything I got from Birchbox, MyGlam and Beauty Army:

The retail value of the eyeliner from Birchbox and the nail polish from MyGlam almost covers the entire cost of my subscriptions. So, if you like to try a lot of new things but don't want to keep buying full sizes, these services can be such a great value!

This past month Julep Maven offered a first month of their subscription service for only a penny. Since that was clearly too good of a value to pass up, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Maven box. I'm pretty sure the first one will be my last, 20 dollars a month for one subscription is a bit out of my price range right now. But I can't wait to try it, and will hopefully be back soon with a post for that and my new Zoyas that arrived!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their week!

Have a beautiful day,
Megan
